FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas softball team earned a split after playing two games at the American Southwest Conference First Pitch Crossover on Friday. The Tornados (3-5) defeated the University of the Ozarks 9-1 and lost to Mississippi College 6-3.
In the opening game, CTX limited Ozarks to just one hit in the shortened five-inning affair. Freshman #Kat Moreno# dazzled through four innings, keeping the Lady Eagles hitless. Junior shortstop #Jessica Rattan# belted her 20th career home run, tying her for the career lead at Concordia.
Concordia was unable to earn an opening day sweep as Mississippi College downed the Tornados 6-3.
The Tornados will again play a pair of games on Saturday in Farmers Branch. CTX will take on LeTourneau University at 12:30 p.m. and East Texas Baptist University at 5:30 p.m. in the final day of the classic.
