ROUND ROCK, Texas -- A five-run outburst in the fourth inning of the final game of the series helped the Concordia University Texas softball team complete a sweep of visiting Howard Payne on Sunday evening at Old Settlers Park.  The Tornados (22-12, 16-4 ASC) shutout the Yellow Jackets (9-22, 6-16 ASC) in the opener, 4-0, and recorded a come-from-behind 6-3 win in the nightcap.

Freshman #Erin Duhon# recorded five hits on the day to lead the Tornados at the plate.  Freshmen #Kat Moreno# and #Haylee Staton# each picked up wins in the circle.  Moreno hurled a five-hit shutout and Staton struck out seven in a complete-game win.

With the win in the nightcap, Concordia clinched a berth in the 2010 American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament, which will be held at Railroad Park in Lewisville, Texas.  More information about the tournament, including Concordia's first round opponent will be available following the final weekend of the regular season.
