BOX SCORES: Game 1 | Game 2

BELTON, Texas --
Freshman right-handed pitcher #Kat Moreno# pitched a two-hit shutout, propelling the Concordia University Texas softball team to a 1-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in the opening game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Dee Dillon Field.  UMHB (25-15, 21-3 ASC) won the nightcap, 1-0 in a pitcher's duel.

With the split, Concordia (24-14, 18-6 ASC) secured the second seed for the American Southwest Conference West Division in the upcoming conference tournament.

In the opener, the Tornados scratched across the game's only run as freshman #Erin Duhon# singled, which sent #Lauren Vansickle# plateward in the fourth inning.  Moreno, who allowed just two hits, allowed only four Lady Cru base runners following the Tornados run.

In the nightcap, Mary Hardin-Baylor scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, which was all the Lady Cru would need.  Both teams struggled to put together much offense in the game as both the Lady Cru and Tornados could only collect three hits.

#Haylee Staton# was the tough-luck loser in the circle for Concordia.  She allowed only three hits and gave up one run in the contest, while pitching a complete game.

With the win in the opener, Concordia broke the school record for most wins in conference play (18), which was previously set in 2008.  This year's Tornado club earned the school's highest finish since Concordia won the ASC West Division in 2000.
