Concordia Texas falls to Texas Lutheran on Saturday, 2-0

SEGUIN, Texas – Texas Lutheran scored two goals in the first 19 minutes and cruised to a 2-0 victory over Concordia University Texas on Saturday at Gustafson Field.

The Bulldogs (3-0) picked up the game-winning score from Isaac Lopez on a penalty kick in the sixth minute.

Lalo Ramirez added an insurance goal in the 19th minute after heading a serve from a corner kick past Tornados (0-2) goalkeeper Nick Martin.

Concordia Texas attempted seven shots, including three on target. Christian Fredrickson took four of the seven shots, including two which were saved by a pair of Texas Lutheran goalkeepers.

The Bulldogs launched 14 shots, including four on goal, and were awarded six corner kicks.

The Tornados will return to Austin to open their home slate on Friday, Sept. 13 against Our Lady of the Lake. The non-conference tilt is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at St. Stephen's.
