AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons rallied from a one-goal deficit to knock off the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team, 2-1, in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match on Sunday afternoon.
The Tornados (5-6-1, 0-3-1 ASC) took an early advantage in the 10th minute, as

However, the Cowboys (4-1-2, 3-0 ASC) answered back in the 29th minute.
Hardin-Simmons mounted an attack off the left wing that saw Nik Valley rip a shot that was knocked down by Concordia Texas goalkeeper
Nick Martin. However, the rebound landed right at the foot of Matt Pitcock, who put it into the back of the net.
Five minutes into the second half, the Cowboys received the game-winning score, as Mohamed Diallo headed in a pass from Kevin McNeal.
The Tornados were unable to even the match over the final 40 minutes.
Hardin-Simmons held an 18-3 advantage in shot attempts.
Martin made three saves in the first half, while
Kyle Duncan came up with one later in the match for CTX.
The Tornados will resume play on Saturday, Oct. 18, in a conference tilt at I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Belton.
