AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team was unable to upset 19th-ranked Hardin-Simmons, as the Cowgirls registered a 3-0 victory in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match on Sunday afternoon.
Hardin-Simmons (9-1, 3-0 ASC) remained unbeaten in league action after holding a 12-7 advantage in shot attempts.
Karissa Olson netted two first-half goals to give the Cowgirls an early lead. Olson scored the game-winning goal in the 30th minute and found the back of the net again in the 42nd minute.
Kami Jones finished off the contest with a score in the 64th minute, scoring off a rebound from her first shot.
The Tornados (5-3-3, 2-2-1 ASC) put four shots on target, three of which came from
Jordan James. Megan Brown also had a shot that needed to be saved, while
Sarah Kirkland and
Lena New each recorded shot attempts.
Concordia Texas will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24, in an ASC match at Texas-Tyler.
