MARSHALL, Texas – East Texas Baptist blanked the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team, 3-0, in an American Southwest Conference match on Friday night.

The Tigers (2-2-2, 1-0 ASC) received a pair of goals in the first half to take an early lead. Christian Garcia scored in the 13th minute and Justin Adams found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 45th minute to give ETBU the first-half advantage.

In the 74th minute, Jose Esparza capped the scoring with his first goal of the campaign.

The Tornados (5-4, 0-1 ASC) attempted seven shots, but was limited to only two in the first half. Matthew Butler led the squad with three shots, including two that were saved.

East Texas Baptist took 10 shots, five of which were put on target.

Concordia will continue its road trip on Saturday night, when the squad stops at Louisiana College. The conference tilt is scheduled to play at 6 p.m. in Pineville, La.
