PINEVILLE, La. – Louisiana College scored three second-half goals, and the Wildcats rallied to defeat the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team, 3-1, in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match on Saturday night at Wildcat Field.
The Tornados (5-5, 0-2 ASC) struck first, as freshman
Eric Bigon scored his second goal of the season off an assist from
Matthew Butler in the fifth minute of the contest.
However, the Wildcats (5-3-2, 1-0-1 ASC) came out strong in the second half, netting two goals in the first six minutes of the period. Pedro Silva scored the game-winner in the 51st minute, only 14 seconds after Cesar Romo tied the match.
Silva put the game out reach in the 68th minute with the final score of the contest.
Concordia Texas was limited to just one shot on the night, while Louisiana College launched 13 attempts, including six on net.
Nick Martin made three saves for the Tornados.
Concordia will head home to open a two-game home stand next weekend. The Tornados will take on Howard Payne on Friday, Oct. 10. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium.
