MARSHALL, Texas – Katie Baker registered her team-leading eighth double-double, but it was not enough as East Texas Baptist handed the Concordia University Texas volleyball team a 3-1 loss in American Southwest Conference (ASC) play at Orleans Gym on Friday night. The Tigers won the match by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 23-25 and 25-20.
Baker posted a match-high 19 winners to go along with 10 digs to complete her fourth consecutive double-double.
Jordan Redmond chipped in with 14 winners, while
Zoe Allen handed out a match-best 42 assists and led the Tornados (7-8, 3-4 ASC) to a .216 hitting percentage.
East Texas Baptist (8-8, 6-1 ASC), which extended its home winning streak to 16 matches, hit .283 in the four-set contest.
Mallory Sanders (15 kills) and Adaeze Elonu (12 kills) on the attack, while Morgan Rupp collected a match-best 17 digs.
Concordia will return to action on Saturday afternoon, as the squad plays a pair of matches in Longview. The Tornados will face LeTourneau in a conference tilt at 12 p.m., before facing Austin College in a non-conference match two hours later.
