MARSHALL, Texas – Jordan James scored a goal in the 63rd minute, and the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team played East Texas Baptist to a 1-1 draw on Friday.
James received an assist from
Lena New before finding the back of the net for her team-leading sixth goal of the season and tying the match at 1-1.
Neither team was able to break through the rest of the contest and the Tornados (3-2-3, 0-1-1 ASC) picked up their first positive result in league action.
The Tigers (4-2-1, 0-0-1 ASC) took an early 1-0 lead in the 18th minute after Kia Jelley registered her seventh score of the campaign.
Concordia Texas attempted nine shots in the contest, including five on target, and was awarded seven corner kicks.
Meagan Brown led the team with three shots, while James took two, both of which were put on frame.
Meanwhile, East Texas Baptist took nine shots, three of which were put on net.
Megan Frontiera saved two of the three shots for Concordia.
The Tornados will return to action on Saturday evening at Louisiana College. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. in Pineville, La.
