LONGVIEW, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team won it second straight match on Saturday, as the team outlasted Austin College, 3-2, at Solheim Arena. The Tornados won the non-conference tilt by scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-8.
Katie Baker logged her team-leading 10th double-double (and sixth consecutive) with a match-best 20 kills to go along with 14 digs.
Zoe Allen also had a big game with 52 assists and 13 stops, while
Sara Hill registered 13 winners and 10 digs.
Jordan Redmond also racked up 11 kills, while
Cassie Dominguez led the back line with a match-high 26 digs.
The Tornados (9-8) limited the 'Roos (17-9) to a .127 hitting percentage.
Concordia Texas used a 5-0 run to close out the fifth set and clinch the victory.
The Tornados will return home on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to host No. 14 Trinity. First serve of the non-conference match is slated for 6 p.m. The CTX Athletics Department will hold a tailgate prior to the match, outside of Concorida Fieldhouse.
