AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer rolled over Ozarks, 6-0, in an American Southwest Conference match on Saturday.
The Tornados (7-5-3, 4-4-1 ASC) scored four goals in the second half to earn their largest margin of victory since topping the Lady Eagles 5-0 on Oct. 12, 2012.
Jordan James and
Maddison Hoskins each netted two goals in the win.
James scored the first goal in the 21st minute to give Concordia Texas a 1-0 advantage. She posted her second score in the 66th minute, giving the Tornados a 3-0 lead.
Hoskins scored the final two goals of the contest for CTX. The freshman forward scored on a penalty kick in the 89th minute and then again found the back of the net only a minute later to cap the scoring.
Alex Price and
Nicole Young also scored in the regular season finale for the Tornados.
Prior to the match, the team honored its seven seniors.
Concordia will now begin preparations for the ASC Tournament, which kicks off next week in Abilene. The Tornados earned the No. 5 seed and will face fourth-seeded Texas Dallas at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, in a quarterfinal matchup. The winner will take on top-seeded Hardin-Simmons two days later.
