BELTON, Texas – The No. 4 seed Concordia University Texas volleyball team lost a five-set thriller to fourth-seeded Texas-Tyler in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Thursday at the Mayborn Campus Center. The Patriots won the contest by scores of 25-12, 23-25, 18-25, 25-21 and 15-6.

Katie Baker and Zoe Allen each registered double-doubles in a losing effort for the Tornados (14-13). Baker posted a team-high 14 kills to go along with 21 digs, while Allen netted 46 assists and 11 digs.

Jordan Redmond added 13 winners, while Cassie Dominguez led Concordia Texas with 22 digs.

The Tornados, which were limited to a .101 hitting percentage in the match, will play No. 2 seed East Texas Baptist in an elimination match at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
