AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team dropped an 81-59 decision to Trinity in non-conference action on Monday at Concordia Fieldhouse.
The Tornados (0-3) had a 9-8 lead in the first half, but the Tigers (2-2) used a 19-2 run to take control of the contest.
Trinity led 41-29 at halftime.
An
Isis Johnson layup with 11:08 remaining cut the Tigers lead to 55-44, but Lauren Splawn hit a 3-pointer that pushed the advantage to 14. Trinity then increased its advantage to as much as 23 in the final period.
Three Concordia Texas players reached double figures, led by
Nadine Fadelle's 15 points. The Jersey Village native scored 11 of her 15 points in the opening half.
Johnson added 11 points, while
Kia Love netted 10.
Anecia Richardson scored a game-high 25 points to pace the Tigers.
The Tornados will hit the road on Thursday night, opening up American Southwest Conference action at Sul Ross State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Gallego Center in Alpine.
