AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team will continue American Southwest Conference (ASC) play this weekend against Louisiana College at Cedar Park High School. The three-game series is set to open with a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and will conclude at 12 p.m. the following day.
The Tornados (5-3, 3-0 ASC) split a non-conference doubleheader at Southwestern on Wednesday. Concordia Texas opened the season by winning three league tilts at Ozarks. The Tornados are hitting at a .356 clip and are slugging .471 through their first eight games.
Senior infielder
Jessica Parish is leading the way with a .615 batting average. The Lexington, Texas, native also leads the team with three doubles, a homer and 12 RBIs. Freshman
Hanna Contreras was named ASC Hitter of the Week following her performance against Ozarks. The local product out of Lake Travis High School hit .727 (8-for-11) with three doubles, a homer and eight RBIs in the four-game sweep last weekend.
The Lady Wildcats (3-1, 3-0 ASC) started the season by taking three of four games from Texas-Dallas last weekend. Louisiana College hit .320 and recorded five doubles and two home runs in the series with the Comets. Courtney Ivey leads the club with a .778 batting average (7-for-9), while Laura Gulotta-Parrish is hitting .571 with a homer.
Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats pitching staff has logged a 1.93 ERA through their first four contests.
