CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team was swept by Louisiana College in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) doubleheader on Friday.

The Lady Wildcats (5-1, 5-0 ASC) registered a pair of shutouts, defeating the Tornados (5-5, 3-2 ASC) 5-0 in the opener and 18-0 in a five-inning affair in the nightcap.

Concordia Texas was limited to two hits combined on the day. Katie Carrizales recorded a leadoff double in the first game, while Noey Ruiz had a double in the fourth inning of the nightcap.

Louisiana College scored at least one run in eight of the 12 innings the two squads played during the doubleheader. In the second contest, the Lady Wildcats scored four runs in four of the five panels.

The two teams will conclude the series with a single contest at 12 p.m. Saturday.
