ALPINE, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team swept a doubleheader against Sul Ross State on Friday at Lady Lobo Field. The Tornados captured 12-5 and 6-3 victories to move back over .500 on the year.
	
	
Hanna Contreras pounded out five hits, including a double and her third home run of the campaign, and drove in six to pace Concordia Texas' offense.
	
	The Tornados (7-6, 5-3 ASC) will go for the series sweep against the Lady Lobos (0-11, 0-8 ASC) at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
	
	GAME ONE
	Sul Ross State scored four runs in the opening inning and held a 5-1 lead after three frames, but Concordia rallied to score 11 unanswered runs en route to a 12-5 win in the series opener.
	
	The Tornados scored a run in the fourth, four in the fifth and six times in the sixth to clinch the victory.
	
	Contreras led the way with a 2-for-4 performance that included three RBIs. 
Katie Carrizales went 2-for-3 and stole three bases, while 
Noey Ruiz was 1-for-3 and drove in two runs.
	
	
Zalysa Perez (4-3) earned the win after giving up five runs (one earned) on six hits over six panels. The right-hander also walked four and struck out seven.
	
	Keri McShan (0-6) suffered the loss after yielding 12 runs on nine hits over six innings of work.
	
	GAME TWO
	Concordia broke a 2-2 tie on 
Katie Schmidt's run-scoring single in the third inning and never looked back on its way to a three-run victory.
	
	The Tornados tacked on another run in the sixth on an run-scoring hit by 
Alexis Lynn. CTX then added a pair of insurance runs a frame later as Contreras clubbed a two-run homer.
	
	
Sydney Coffey (2-2) hurled a complete game to pick up the win. Coffey scattered seven hits and allowed three runs (one earned) while striking out six.
	
	Isaura Rodriquez (0-4) was saddled with the loss after giving up six runs on 13 hits in a complete-game effort..
