CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team slammed six home runs and swept a doubleheader from Howard Payne to open an American Southwest Conference series on Friday. The Tornados won the opening game 17-3 in five innings and picked up a 7-3 victory in the nightcap.
Concordia Texas (11-11, 9-8 ASC) racked up 34 hits on the day, including 21 in the opening contest.
Alexis Lynn led the Tornados with six hits, including a home run, while
Hanna Contreras was 4-for-7 with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs.

Jessica Parish and
Katie Schmidt also hit round-trippers in the nightcap.
Concordia scored 10 runs in the first inning of the opening contest. Contreras cleared the bases with a grand slam and Lynn followed with a solo shot to start the rout.
The Tornados added two runs in the second, four in the third and one more in the fourth to collect the run-rule victory.
Syndey Coffey (4-5) earned the win after allowing only one unearned run in three innings of work.
In the second game, the Lady Jackets (2-19, 1-16 ASC) had a 1-0 lead before Concordia scored two in the fourth and five in the fifth to take a 7-1 advantage.
Howard Payne managed two more in the sixth, but the Tornados completed the come-from-behind win.
Zalysa Perez (6-5) limited the Lady Jackets to three runs on four hits in the complete-game effort.
The set concludes at 12 p.m. Saturday.
