AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team will play a non-conference doubleheader against Southwestern on Tuesday. The contests, which were pushed back due to inclement weather last month, are scheduled for 5/7 p.m. at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
The Tornados (12-11) are coming off a three-game sweep of Howard Payne last weekend. Concordia Texas outscored the Lady Jackets 37-9 and blasted seven home runs in the series.
Freshman infielder
Hanna Contreras was named American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week for her performance in the set. The local product out of Lake Travis High School hit .636 (7-for-11) with three doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs.
The Pirates (8-13-1) won the final three games of a four-game conference series with Centenary last weekend. Karen Ramirez was tabbed Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week after posting a .643 batting average during the contests.
The two teams have split the previous 16 meetings, including each team claiming a half of the doubleheader played on Feb. 19 in Georgetown.
