AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team will return to American Southwest Conference play this weekend against I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor in a three-game series. The set is scheduled to open with a 6 p.m. matchup on Friday and conclude with a 1 p.m. doubleheader the following day. All three games are slated to take place Dee Dillon Field in Belton.

The Tornados (13-12, 10-8 ASC) are coming off a doubleheader split against Southwestern on Tuesday. Concordia Texas is hitting .342, which ranks fourth in the league, and the team's 4.35 ERA ranks eighth.

Hanna Contreras has bolstered the Tornados lineup this season. Contreras, who was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Player of the Week on Wednesday, leads the conference with eight home runs and 33 RBIs to go along with her .527 batting average.

Sydney Coffey leads Concordia's pitching staff with a 6-4 record, 2.73 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 64 innings of work.

The Cru (13-10, 10-8 ASC) have won their last five contests, including a sweep against Texas-Dallas last weekend. Mary Hardin-Baylor is hitting .257, which ranks 10th in the league, and its pitching staff has logged a 2.21 ERA.
