AUSTIN, Texas – Fresh off an offensive explosion and three-game sweep at Sul Ross State, the Concordia University Texas softball team will continue American Southwest Conference (ASC) play by hosting Hardin-Simmons this weekend at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The set opens with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and will conclude at 10 a.m. Saturday with a single contest.
The Tornados (8-6, 6-3 ASC) rebounded last weekend by outscoring the Lady Lobos 34-10. Concordia Texas also stole 14 bases and hit three home runs during the sweep.
Jessica Parish leads the Tornados at the plate with a .525 batting average. The senior infielder has recorded five doubles, a homer and 15 RBIs.
Hanna Contreras leads the conference with four round-trippers and 17 RBIs.
Zalysa Perez leads Concordia's pitching staff with a 5-3 record. The right-hander also has struck out 21 hitters in 46.1 innings.
The Cowgirls (5-7, 3-7 ASC) swept an ASC series against Texas-Dallas last weekend in Abilene. Hardin-Simmons has registered a .234 batting average and 6.77 ERA. Kara LeLeux leads the club with a .414 batting average and seven RBIs.
