ROUND ROCK, Texas – Texas-Dallas rallied to register a win in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader and complete the series sweep of the Concordia University Texas softball team at Old Settlers Park. The Comets collected a 6-3 victory in the opener and outlasted the Tornados in the second game, 4-2, in nine innings.

Concordia Texas (15-22, 12-18 ASC) had a 2-0 lead in the nightcap, but Texas-Dallas (20-17, 13-17 ASC) tallied a run in the fourth and one in the sixth to pull even. Both teams went scoreless until the Comets scored twice on an error in the ninth. The Tornados were unable to answer in the bottom half of the frame and dropped the contest by a pair of runs.

In the opening tilt, Texas-Dallas built a 6-0 lead before Concordia was able to push a run across. With two outs in the seventh, CTX scored three times, including a two-run triple by Noey Ruiz, but the Comets were able to quell the threat with the potential tying run at the plate.

Alexis Lynn paced the Tornados at the plate with five hits during the day. Lynn was 3-for-5 in the first game and 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the second contest. Jessica Borrego had three hits in the opening tilt, including a pair of doubles.

The Tornados will return to action next weekend, as the squad wraps up the regular season with a three-game series against LeTourneau.
