ROUND ROCK, Texas – Sydney Coffey hurled a two-hitter, while allowing only one run, and the Concordia University Texas softball team snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over LeTourneau on Friday evening at Old Settlers Park.

Coffey (7-11) allowed only one run in the sixth inning and struck out one en route to the win.

Meanwhile, the Tornados (16-22, 13-18 ASC) registered eight hits, including a double apiece by Katie Carrizales and Hanna Contreras. The duo both collected a pair of knocks, while Carrizales drove in two. Jessica Parish also was 1-for-3 and drove in a run.

The series will conclude on Saturday with a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
