No. 10 East Texas Baptist completes series sweep of Concordia Texas

CEDAR PARK, Texas – Shelby Parker pitched a two-hit shutout, and No. 10 East Texas Baptist rolled to a five-inning, 10-0 victory over the Concordia University Texas softball team on Saturday afternoon.

Sydney Coffey and Alexis Lynn had the only hits for the Tornados (15-16, 12-12 ASC), both singles.

The Tigers (26-5, 20-4 ASC) scored a run in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth inning to complete the series sweep of CTX.

Parker (11-4) struck out eight and allowed only one walked while facing three over the minimum.

Zalysa Perez (7-7) suffered the loss after yielding six runs (five earned) on 10 hits in four-plus stanzas.

Concordia Texas will return to action next weekend, when the squad travels to play fourth-ranked Texas-Tyler.
