VICTORIA, Texas – After a lightning delay and thunderstorm forced the game to be moved to another field, Houston-Victoria scored a late goal to edge the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team, 1-0, on Saturday.
Ben Taylor came off the bench and netted the game-winning score in the 74th minute to hand the Tornados (3-3) their second loss in as many days.
Brian Redmond recorded a shutout for the Jaguars (6-1-1) after collecting a pair of saves.
Houston-Victoria held an 11-3 advantage in total shot attempts, forcing
Nick Martin to make seven saves in the contest.

Concordia Texas will continue its road trip with a stop at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday, Sept. 26. The contest in Belton is the first of two to be played in the I-35 Rivalry Series this season. The first match, which kicks off at 5 p.m., will be a non-conference tilt.
