Women's soccer earns 2-2 draw at Houston-Victoria on Saturday

VICTORIA, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team wrapped up its weekend with a 2-2 draw versus Houston-Victoria on Saturday afternoon at The Cage.

The Tornados (3-1-2) got back on the positive side after the contest was called in the 84th minute due to lightning in the area.

Alex Price put Concordia Texas on top in the 45th minute after scoring her third goal of the year on an assist by Nicole Young.

However, the Jaguars (1-5-1) scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half to take a 2-1 advantage.

Meagan Brown then saved the game for the Tornados after scoring on a pass from Price in the 69th minute.

Houston-Victoria led CTX in shot attempts, 13-8, including a 9-2 advantage in attempts on target. Kila Hartom came up with a game-high seven saves for the Tornados.

UP NEXT
The Tornados will open American Southwest Conference play on Friday, Sept. 26, when the team travels to Belton to face I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
