BELTON, Texas – Alejandro Labastida buried a free kick in the 23rd minute, and the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team shut out I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor, 1-0, in a non-conference match on Friday evening at Cru Soccer Field. It marked just the second win in 21 attempts for the Tornados over their rivals since 1999, and first since Oct. 6, 2007.

On the defensive end, Nick Martin collected six saves to record his second clean sheet of the year.

The Cru (3-4) held a 9-5 advantage in shot attempts in the contest.

The Tornados will continue their road trip with a stop at East Texas Baptist on Friday, Oct. 3. Kick-off for the American Southwest Conference contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Marshall.
