Concordia Texas handles Sul Ross State on Saturday, 61-50

AUSTIN, Texas – Kayla Strobel knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 15 points, as the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team defeated Sul Ross State 61-50 on Saturday at Concordia Fieldhouse.

WHERE THEY STAND
• The Tornados improved to 7-9 overall, 6-6 in the American Southwest Conference.
• The Lady Lobos dropped to 3-13 overall, 2-9 in league action.
• Concordia Texas has won back-to-back games and three of its last five.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Strobel, making her second consecutive start, scored 10 of her 15 points in the first half, giving CTX a 31-24 lead.
• Isis Johnson added 11 points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
• The Tornados limited Sul Ross State to 34 percent (17-of-50) from the field. The Lady Lobos also were 0-for-5 from beyond the arc.
• Concordia has prohibited its last two opponents from making a 3-pointer.
• Nadine Fadelle dished out a game-high seven assists and added four steals, while Kia Love and Da'Quayla Terry each pulled down eight boards.
• Love also was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

COMING UP NEXT
• The Tornados will host I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
• Monday's game will mark the end of a five-game home stand.
