AUSTIN, Texas – Kayla Strobel scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team to a 53-47 win over LeTourneau in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) contest on Monday evening at Concordia Fieldhouse.

Strobel, who netted a season-high, tallied 11 of her 16 in the final half. She hit 6-of-10 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

The Tornados (4-6, 3-3 ASC) shot just 29.6 percent (8-of-27) from the floor in the first half, but rallied to connect on 43.5 percent (10-of-23) of their shots in the second half. Overall, Concordia Texas shot 36 percent (18-of-50) from the field, including 37.5 percent (6-for-16) from downtown.

The YellowJackets (3-8, 1-5 ASC) were led by Rebecca Stewart's 13 points.

LeTourneau held a 23-21 lead at halftime. The Tornados scored 10 of the first 18 points of the second half to tie the game at 31-all. CTX then reeled off a 6-0 spurt to take the lead.

After the YellowJackets battled back to claim a 40-38 advantage, the Tornados scored nine consecutive points to take seven-point lead. LeTourneau again came back and tied the game at 47-all on Ashley Reed's jumper in the paint with 3:15 remaining. However, on the ensuing possession, Ally Terry netted a jumper that gave Concordia the lead for good.

The Tornados added four more points on free throws and held the YellowJackets scoreless over the final three minutes of the contest.
