MARSHALL, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team dropped a 73-58 decision to East Texas Baptist on Saturday afternoon at Ornelas Gym.
WHERE THEY STAND• The Tornados dropped to 7-13 overall (6-10 ASC).
• Concordia Texas is in seventh place in the current league standings.
• The Tigers improved to 9-12 overall (5-11 ASC), and sit only one game behind CTX.
HOW IT HAPPENED• East Texas Baptist built a double-digit lead seven minutes into the second half and never let up.
• The Tornados shot 30.5 percent (25-of-82) from the field, including just 21.9 percent (7-for-32) from beyond the arc.
• Four CTX players reached double figures, led by
Isis Johnson and
Kayla Strobel, both of whom netted 13 points.

Emily Cullers and
Kia Love each tallied 10 points, while Cullers also dished out five assists.
• ETBU shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57) from the field.
• Amanda Rucker led three Tigers into double digits with a game-high 20 points.
• Amber Carver logged a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds.
COMING UP NEXT• The Tornados will return to Austin next week to open their final home stand of the year.
• Concordia will host Ozarks on Thursday, Feb. 12. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at Concordia Fieldhouse.
