SEGUIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team was shut out in a pair of non-conference games at former American Southwest Conference foe Texas Lutheran on Wednesday night. The Tornados dropped the opening game 7-0 and suffered an 8-0 loss in five innings to end the night.
Concordia Texas (4-11) was limited to three hits in each of the contests. The Tornados were led by
Amanda Sigala-Lopez, who tallied a hit in both games.

Valerie Gonzales,
Brooke Jones and
Amber Robinson all collected one single in the twinbill.
In the opening contest, the Bulldogs (12-4) took the lead on a pair of unearned runs following two errors in the second inning. Texas Lutheran added three more runs in the third, one in the fourth and one more in the fifth to finish out the game.
The Bulldogs carried the momentum in the finale, scoring six runs in the first three frames. Texas Lutheran completed the run-rule victory by crossing home plate twice in the fifth.
Concordia will resume play this weekend at Howard Payne. The ASC series has been pushed back two days due to impending inclement weather in the Brownwood area. The two teams will play a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, and the set will conclude with a single game at 12 p.m. Monday.
