Tornados fall in series finale to Cru

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team dropped a 15-1 decision in five innings to Mary Hardin-Baylor in the American Southwest Conference series finale on Saturday afternoon.

The Tornados (7-16, 7-10 ASC) was limited to six hits in the contest.

Sydney Coffey was 2-for-2 to lead the way for Concordia Texas, while Alyssa Autrey, Blayr Huff, Morgan Loredo and Amber Robinson each tallied a hit.

The Cru (12-7, 11-5 ASC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first two innings. The Tornados picked up their lone run in the bottom of the second, as Shelby Burrus drove in Autrey on a groundout.

Mary Hardin-Baylor added three runs in the third and three more in the fifth to complete the series sweep.

Concordia will return to action on Tuesday, as the squad hosts St. Olaf in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
