ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia University Texas softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Hardin-Simmons on Saturday. The Cowgirls won the first game 10-2 in five innings, and earned a walk-off win in the nightcap, 2-1.
The Tornados (4-8, 4-6 ASC) were limited to four hits in the opening contest, but CTX out-hit Hardin-Simmons (5-7, 2-6 ASC) in the second game 7-6.
Jessica Borrego led the way with three hits in the twinbill for Concordia Texas. Borrego had two hits in the nightcap, as did
Brooke Jones, who posted a pair of doubles.
The Cowgirls won the second game of the day in the seventh inning on an error to complete the sweep.
The two teams will close out the series with a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
