Billings Nets Game-Winner in OT as Men's Soccer Eclipses Belhaven, 3-2

BOX SCORE JACKSON, Miss. -- The Concordia Texas men's soccer team won its sixth-consecutive match in thrilling fashion Saturday afternoon, beating Belhaven 3-2 in overtime.

For the second time this season, Fabian Billings netted the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Tornados the victory. The tally, which was assisted by Farauz Abbaszadeh, came just over four minutes into the first overtime. It was actually Billings' second tally of the day. The first came just six mintues into the contest, when he converted on a header following a corner kick.

Abbaszadeh also got on the board for a goal a little over 90 seconds into the second half. It gave Concordia (6-0-0) a 2-0 lead.

The clean sheet would only last another 17 minutes. Belhaven (3-1-1) got on the board on a goal by Logan Tassin.

The Blazers tied the game with three minutes remaining when Cillian Thompson converted on a penalty kick.

The Tornados begin a season-long, four-match home stand Friday, Sept. 25 against Howard Payne. Kickoff will follow 20 minutes after the conclusion of the woman's match, which begins at 5 p.m. at Town and Country Park.
