AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas men's tennis team returned to action for the first time since 2008 Friday afternoon at River Place Country Club. Unfortunately, Division I's UT Rio Grande Valley handed the Tornados a 7-0 setback.
Concordia (0-1) contested all three doubles contests, falling 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3 in the three flights.
Gabriel Borunda and Iousa Malaki were the only Tornados to grab multiple points in the singles flights. Borunda fell 6-3, 6-2 to the Vaqueros' (2-1) Juan Cruz Soria while Malaki fell to Ethan Ammon, 6-2, 6-1.
Adrian Montes fell 6-1, 6-0 at line four to Cosme Jubara.
The Tornados return to action tomorrow at Howard Payne.
