Georgia - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team earned postseason recognition following another strong season that included a trip to the SCAC Championship match, the program's fifth appearance in the title match over the last six seasons.
Steven Scholz highlighted the honors for the Tornados after being named First Team All-SCAC in singles play, while Rowan Daniell & Kade Talbot earned SCAC All-Tournament Team recognition in singles competition.
Scholz, who is currently ranked 20th in the west region, put together one of the top seasons in the conference while competing primarily at the No. 1 singles position. He finished the year with wins in 12 of his final 15 completed matches, including victories over opponents from nationally-ranked WashU and Colorado College.
Scholz also delivered key postseason performances for CTX, rallying for a three-set win against LeTourneau in the SCAC Tournament quarterfinals before defeating Hendrix's Wesley McClure (SCAC Player of the Year)Â in straight sets during the semifinals. Scholz was also a three-time SCAC Singles Player of the Week selection during the 2026 season.
Daniell earned All-Tournament Team honors after helping lead the Tornados to the SCAC Championship match with a pair of postseason victories. He battled back for a three-set win over LeTourneau's Timothy Black in the quarterfinals before adding a straight-set victory against Hendrix in the semifinals.
Kade Talbot also played a major role in CTX's postseason run, earning two singles victories during the SCAC Tournament. Talbot secured a three-set win against LeTourneau before defeating Hendrix's Santiago Barajas in straight sets to help send the Tornados to the championship match.
With the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign, Concordia Texas will shift their focus to training for the 2026-27 season.
