BOX SCORE

AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team dropped a 7-3 decision to LeTourneau Sunday afternoon.

The YellowJackets (8-12, 6-9 ASC) scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back.  Ashlin Roach delivered the big blow – a three-run inside-the-park homer with two down.

LeTourneau added a single run in the bottom of the second and threatened to add more as reliever Sydney Coffey helped the Tornados (6-14, 3-9) avoid more damage.

It remained a 6-0 contests until the bottom of the fifth, when Concordia finally got on the board on an RBI single from Blayr Huff.

The YellowJackets got that run back in the top of the sixth, but the 7-1 lead wouldn't last long. The Tornados answered with a two-run home half of the inning.  Samantha Zamarripa and Olivia Kaase had the RBI knocks for CTX.

Concordia makes the short trip to Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m.
