BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 BELTON, Texas -- The Concorida Texas softball team dropped its doubleheader Saturday at Mary Hardin-Baylor, 8-0 and 10-5 to open up the three-game set against the Cru.

Morgan Loredo and Sydney Coffey each had three hits on the day, while Haley Dennett had three RBI in the nightcap to help the CTX offensive effort.

GAME ONE -- UMHB 8, CTX 0 (5 inn.)

UMHB (7-13, 6-11 ASC) scored three runs in the first inning to set the tone for game one of the rivalry series. They would go on to add five more over the course of the game to end the contest in five innings.

CTX (5-14, 2-9) was able to get five hits in the ballgame but just could not bring a run across. Coffey went 2-for-2 at the plate to try to help her cause in the circle, but she suffered the loss.

GAME TWO -- UMHB 10, CTX 5

The Tornado bats finally produced runs in Saturday's nightcap thanks in part to a 2-for-3 outing from Dennett and a 3-for-4 ballgame for Loredo. Dennett doubled and tripled to drive in runs while Loredo also smacked an RBI three-bagger.

Concordia scored the first run of the game to get the lead for the first time in the series and would tie the contest in the top of the second

Unfortunately, the Cru found ways to score in bunches with two in the first and eight in the fourth, including three via home runs.

The two teams conclude the series tomorrow at 2 p.m.
