AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas Softball team is in the midst of an eight-game stretch in which they are facing three of the top five teams in the nation. The Tornados were swept in twin bill against No. 4 Texas Lutheran Tuesday night, 11-2 and 10-2.

GAME ONE – TLU 11, CTX 2 (5 inn.)

The Tornados fell 11-2 in Tuesday night's opener.

Both teams scratched runs across in the first before the Bulldogs grabbed a 3-1 lead with two in the top of the third.

TLU then sent 12 to the plate and scored eight runs in the top of the fourth to grab an 11-1 lead. CTX grabbed a run back in the bottom of the fifth.

Haley Dennett added a double to give her an ASC-leading 11 two-base hits on the season. Brooke Jones and Morgan Loredo drove in the CTX runs.

GAME TWO – TLU 10, CTX 2 (5 inn.)

Texas Lutheran scored three in the first inning, but Concordia answered right back with two in the home half of the frame on Brooke Jones' two-run double.

Unfortunately, that's all the Tornados would get in the contest as TLU opened up a big lead with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth as the Bulldogs went on to win 10-2 in five innings.

CTX heads to No. 1 UT Tyler Friday to open up a three-game set. First pitch is set for April 1 at 5 p.m.
