BOX SCORE JACKSON, Miss. -- The Concordia Texas softball team fell 9-0 in Friday's opener at Belhaven in five innings.
The Blazers batted around in the bottom of the first and would have in the second inning if it weren't for a caught stealing. Belhaven did major damage, however, scoring four runs in each on nine total hits to build an 8-0 lead.
Haley Dennett extended her hitting streak to 10 games with a lead-off single in the top of the first. The Tornados (5-10) were able to put runners at the corners with one down, but left them stranded.
Concordia would scatter a total of five hits in the five inning contest.
The final game Friday was suspended due to an injury to one of the umpires.
At the point of suspension, CTX led 3-0 and was batting in the top of the fourth. The game will resume tomorrow at 11 a.m.
