TYLER, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team fell 9-0 in five innings at top-ranked UT Tyler Friday evening to open up a three-game road set.

The Patriots (26-2, 18-0 ASC) scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth, including three on KK Stevens' home run.

The Tornados (7-22, 4-15) were able to string together a couple of hits, but could not score. Brooke Jones and Morgan Loredo both reached on singles in the top of the fifth. Olivia Kaase, who pinch-ran for Jones, was later erased on a double play. Loredo, meanwhile, was left stranded.

The two squads resume the series tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at noon.
