BOX SCORE 2 TYLER, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team dropped both Saturday contests, 8-0 and 9-0 against UT Tyler, who entered the weekend as the top team in Division III.
The Patriots took the opener 8-0 in five innings. The Tornados managed a pair of base runners via a walk and a hit batter, but fell on the wrong end of Kelsie Batten's no-hitter.
In the second game,
Haley Dennett made her debut as a pitcher but suffered the loss in just over two innings of work.
Chloe Gonzales and
Samantha Zamarripa each got a hit in the contest, but the Patriots scored nine in four innings to win the finale 9-0.
The Tornados hope to right the ship April 8 when they open a three-game set against UT Dallas at Tornado Softball Field.
