BOX SCORE 2 CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The Concordia Texas softball team suffered a pair of one-run losses Friday at Ozarks. The Tornados fell 3-2 in the opener then dropped the nightcap, 1-0, in extra innings.
GAME ONE – Ozarks 3, Concordia 2
Concordia was able to answer a couple of early Ozarks runs in game one on Friday.
After the Eagles' Kayla Gray drove in the first run on a sacrifice fly in the second and Hannah Oler singled home a run in the fourth, Brooke Jones got the Tornados on the board in the top of the fifth with an RBI single of her own.
Unfortunately, Ozarks got a key insurance run on Brook Hoffsommer's RBI single in the bottom of that inning.
Haley Dennett was able to get an RBI single in the top of the seventh, but Eagles' hurler Abigail Mork ended the Tornado threat.
GAME TWO – Ozarks 1, Concordia 0 (9 inn.)
It took an extra two innings to decide Friday's final game, and unfortunately, it didn't go in favor of the Tornados.
While Haley Dennett did smash a double for one of CTX's four hits, it was Ozarks' Haleigh Moore's one-out triple in the bottom of the ninth that led to the game-winning play.
Moore broke for home on a steal and was ruled safe, scoring the contest's only run.
The two squads conclude their 2016 campaigns tomorrow at 11 a.m.
