ALPINE, Texas -- The Concordia Texas men's tennis squad improved to 3-1 in ASC West play with a 5-4 triumph at Sul Ross State Friday.
CTX led 4-3 with
Adrian Montes and
Micah Austin left on the court. Montes was down 4-1 in the third set before his heroic come back to win 7-5 in the third to clinch it for the Tornados.
"I'm so proud of the determination that the guys show today. At one point, it looked like the Lobos were going to pull it out, but the guys fought so hard all the way through the end of the match," head coach
Daniel Whitehead said.

"I also want to add a big shout out to the baseball team for coming and making a difference in the match, I'm proud to be a part of the CTX Athletics team and the support that everybody shows each other."
The Tornados conclude ASC West play April 15 at Hardin-Simmons.
