AUSTIN, Texas – Joe Neal scored a career-high 34 points to lead Concordia Texas over McMurry 101-89 on Thursday night.

Half of Neal's points came at the free-throw line as he shot 17-19 from the line for the night and finished with nine rebounds. Ephriam Price scored 18 points, while Ben Page had a near double-double as he scored 10 points and nine boards. Rashad Coleman and Joshua Samuels finished with 13 and 12 points respectively. The War Hawks (8-10, 4-6 ASC), meanwhile, turned the ball over 16 times, which the Tornados (13-6, 7-3 ASC) converted into 29 points.

In the first half, CTX fell behind early, trailing McMurry 13-8 with 14:25 left in the half. Down 16-19 with 11:35 left, the Tornados would go on a quick 7-0 run to their largest lead of the half leading 23-19 with 9:12 remaining. The lead would change 17 times in the first half and the War Hawks took a 46-44 lead into the half. CTX converted nine of McMurry's turnovers into 17 points, but were outrebounded 28-13, which led to eight second-chance points.

The second half remained contentious as neither team was able to pull away. The Tornados led 58-57 with 14:20 to go, before going on an 8-2 run to take their largest lead to that point, leading 66-59. CTX would take their largest lead of the game after a Coleman layup and began to pull away from War Hawks as they led 89-74 with 5:01 left in the second half.
