Marissa Stinson picked up double digit kills as the Concordia Texas volleyball team dropped a match featuring the top two teams from the West Division of the American Southwest Conference 3-0 to Mary Hardin-Baylor Tuesday at Mayborn Campus Center.
Stinson, a sophomore from Pearland, Texas, led the way for CTX with 11 kills and a .381 hitting percentage in the game and has now produced double digit kills in 12 matches this season.
The Tornados dropped set one 25-16 while holding UMHB to a match-low .244 hitting percentage.
In set two, CTX bounced back to take an early 14-10 lead, but was unable to hold on as they fell 25-20.
Georgia Quiroz recorded 21 assists while
Hanah Singer picked up three aces in just three sets.
Sydney Dudney and
Rylee Davis led the Tornados with eight digs each.
UMHB won the third set 25-21 to take the straight set win.
As a team, CTX had six aces over three sets.
The Tornados will welcome UMHB to Austin, Texas this Friday for a rematch at 6:00 p.m.
