ABILENE, Texas – Victoria Herrera and Delaney Kennedy each scored a goal in the first 11 minutes of the game to help the Concordia Texas women's soccer team take home a 2-0 victory over McMurry Saturday at Wilford Moore Stadium.

Herrera, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, scored her first goal of the season while Kennedy, a freshman out of Friendswood, Texas, netted her second. The Tornados moved to 9-7, 5-6 ASC on the year.

CTX opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Herrera scored off a corner kick. It was the second goal of her career.

Kennedy followed the first goal shortly after in the 11th minute with a goal of her own from the right side across to the far post.

The score remained 2-0 the rest of the way as the Tornados defense stymied the Warhawk offensive attack allowing just seven total shots, only two of which were on goal.

Shelby Franco picked up the win in goal for CTX to move to 7-6 on the season. It was her fourth shutout of the year.

The Tornados will close out ASC play Saturday against Sul Ross State in Austin at 1 p.m. CTX will honor its seniors and will be looking to clinch a spot in the ASC Tournament.
