Myles leads Tornados past Schreiner

SAN ANTONIO, Texas  - Tying a career-high in kills, Marjani Myles led the Concordia Texas Volleyball team to a 3-1 set win over Schreiner on Friday in the first day of the Trinity Texas Invitational.

The Tornados reached double figures in kills in each sets, recording 52 on the night. Carly Custer recorded her seventh double-double of the season totaling 13 kills with 14 digs on the night. Georgia Quiroz, meanwhile, led with a team-high 27 assists for CTX.

The Tornados opened the first set on a 10-3 scoring run, taking a 1-0 lead as they won the set 25-10. After the Mountaineers edged out CTX with a 25-23 second set win, the Tornados responded by tallying 13 kills and only three errors as they went up 2-1 with another 25-10 set win.

CTX would close out the match taking the final set 25-14 for their 14th win of the year. It is the team's most wins since the 2015 season when the Tornados totaled 14 on the year.

Next up, the Tornados will finish up the final day of the Trinity Texas Invitational when they will go up against 5th-ranked Trinity at 11 a.m. and then face Texas Lutheran at 4 p.m.
