AUSTIN, Texas – After a strong win in the opening set, the Concordia University Texas volleyball team was unable to keep the momentum and fell to Texas Lutheran 3-1 Tuesday night at Concordia Fieldhouse.
The Tornados took the set one in dominating fashion, 25-14, but the Lady Bulldogs battled to win the next three sets and drop CTX to 8-7, 5-2 ASC on the year.
In set one, CTX had a .278 hitting percentage while holding TLU to -.036.
Hanah Singer was fantastic from the service line as well, notching three service aces in the first set alone.
The Tornados took a 15-11 set lead in the second set, but the Lady Bulldogs battled back with a 14-5 run to take set two 25-20.
TLU went on to win set three 25-17 and set four 25-13 to move to 11-8 on the year.
Kelly Farina led the way for CTX in the match with 14 kills and 18 digs, both one short of season highs.
Carly Custer also recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs.
Next up, the Tornados will resume conference play with a home match against Howard Payne Friday at 6 p.m.
