AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team hit had a .282 hitting percentage as they swept Sul Ross State on Friday for their third win in their last four games.
The Tornados (10-7, 7-2 ASC) tallied 38 kills as a team to only 14 errors, including only three in a 25-12 first set win. The Lobos (2-20, 0-10 ASC), meanwhile, committed 24 errors, which CTX took advantage of to win their fifth conference game in their last six American Southwest Conference matchups.
Marissa Stinson and
Kelly Farina reached double figures in kills to lead the Tornados while
Lianne VanDyke had 25 assists. Stinson also had five blocks in the game as CTX only trailed once through the first two sets. After being tied at 12-all in the final set, the Tornados would close out the match on a 13-3 run.
Up next, CTX will finish up their five-game home stand as they take on Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
